The Corrs: Four musical brothers

The Corrs is an irish band make up of four brothers, Sharon, Caroline, Andrea and Jim Corr who play traditional irish music with modern pop and rock. During their long career they have recorded so many hits like Runaway, Only When I sleep, What Can I Do?, I Never Loved You Anyway, Radio, Breathless, Summer Sunshine o Angel, which hits have achieved to sell more than 50 millions of CD’s.

Their parents introduced them in music’s life. They had a group of music and their parents encouraged them to play some instruments when they were children.

Their first succesful album came out after her mother’s death. They were famous in USA’s music lists and their single was Breathless. This album was made up with new sounds, electronic sounds. They sold more than 7 millions of CD’s. After Breathless we could listen other hits like Irresistible, Giveme a reason and All the love in the world, but they weren’t as succesful as the first one.

They were consolidated in music’s world but after 3 years they decided to have a rest in their career (some media considered it a separation) and Andrea recorded her first CD alone with the title Ten feet high.  Probably in 2010 The Corrs would return together in music’s to edit their sixth album in their careers.

Jason Mraz: atractive melodies

Jason Mraz is a songwriter and singer from USA (Mechanicsville, Virginia).

He’s influenced by reggae, pop, rock, folk, jazz and hip hop. He has shared stage with famous artists like James Blunt, James Morrison, Alanis Morissette, Colbie Caillat and others.

His first appearance in music’s world was with his first single The beauty in ugly in Americans serie Ugly Betty.

A few months later, in American Idol show, one of the contestants sang Geek in the pink, created by Jason Mraz. This performance gave to him much popularity and his song reached the 22nd place in Itunes of USA.

Aqua: dance revolution

Aqua is a group from Norway and Denmark of pop and dance music. The members are three danish René Dif, Claus Norreen, Søren Rasted and the singer Lene Nystrøm.

The three first members met Lene in 1994 and then they created the band. They acted in a lot of discotheques and pubs of Denmark and Norway. The single which made them reaching fame was Barbie girl.

In 1996 they recorded their first single which was a real success in Denmark; Roses are red.

Their first album was Aquarium and it was nominated by Grammy’s awards. It was a true success.

After their second album Aquarius they became first in music’s lists in eurodanced style and for making  funny clips.

In 2001 they broke the group because their members were confronted themselves.

Melendi:

Today, I want to talk about Melendi who is a Spanish singer of Pop music and its music is mixed with rumba and rock.

He was born in Oviedo (Asturias). Fortunately for him he studied at the same class as Alonso, who drives a Formula 1. Melendi has dedicated one song for Alonso called Magic Alonso.

He used to play football but he used to work in pubs too so he moved in the night world.

In February (2003), he made his first lonely album called Sin noticias de Holanda. It has got 12 songs. But he reached fame when his song Con la luna llena was the official theme in La vuelta ciclista.

He obteined a Premio Ondas with Caminando por la vida, a song which is from his second album.

Akon: a good raper

His name is Aliuane Badara Thiam pronounced as Akon. He is a singer from Senegal. He sings hip hop and R&B. He’s a composer too and sometimes  rapes. He also is a musical producer.

He was born the 30th of April on 1973. Screw, who established Block Royal, met Akon in the prision. Akon got well-known with his single Locked up of his first album Trouble.

In his second CD, Konvicted, he included his single Smack my akon and he was nominated by Grammy’s awards.

Keith Urban: beautiful love songs

First of all, I want to say that this artist is new for me. I’d found one of his songs yesterday and I think he has got a good sense of music. This music has enchanged me so I hope you too.

He was born in New Zealand the 26th of October but he was brought up in Australia. The 25th of July of 2006 he got married with a famous actress called Nicole Kidman. He is a musician, a singer and song-writer and his type of music is modern country with a bit of pop and rock. He also plays instruments like the double bass and others. At the age of 6 he learned to play the guitar. He won a Grammy award in 2005 with his song You’ll Think of Me.

In October of 2006 he was sent to a detoxificacion centre because he was addicted to cocaine.

The 8 of January in 2008, his wife Nicole Kidman and he made public that she was pregnant. The 7th of July was born their first daughter called Sunday Rose.

Nelly Furtado: say it right!

Nelly reaches fame in 2000 with her first album called Whoa, Nelly! which conteins the singles: I’m like a bird and Turn off the light. After having a child, she came out with a new album Folklore [2003]. In this album we can find her song Força which was the official hymn from Football Eurocup in 2004.

In 2006, she caught fame with her succesful album Loose. It has four incredibly songs: Promiscuous, Maneater, All good things and Say it right.

She is well-known for trying different intruments in her songs, odd sounds, styles, languages and types of music. This variety has improved her in her music taste and in her interest for new cultures.

In October [2008], Nelly confirmed and interview with Entertainment Tonight Canada, which is working in her fouth discography production in Spanish and Portuguese.

In November, James Morrison purposed her to sing with him for his new song Broken Strings [you can listen to this song in the latest post]

In the beginnings of March, she has published in her web that she is working in her two new albums: one in Spanish and the other in Portuguese which will come out with her own discography’s mark.

James Morrison :)

He’s a famous singer, songwriter and guitarist. He was born in 1984 in England. His childhood wasn’t easy, he was 19 and he had to get ahead his family. For this reason he began to play the guitar in the streets. He played songs from his favourite artists: Stevie Wonder among others. In June 2006, he came out with his first CD called undiscovered which reached the highest place in England’s list.

You give me something, his first single, made him became popular all over the world.

In Brits ’07 awards has won for being the best English singer man.

She was born in Colombia and since she was a little girl she loves music. At the age of seven she began to dance bellydance, an arabian type of dancing. When she started singing the guys in her class laughted at her because she has a stronger voice so they said she looked like an animal voice.

She recorded her fisrt album Magia at the age of 14.  This album and the following one didn’t catch much fans.

Her third album succeeded and she obteined fans from South America and more countries like USA, France, Germany…

Her fourth album called Donde están los ladrones? succeeded too. It was so important for her that MTV offered her to make an unplugged CD, which made Shakira won her first Grammy.

With Laundry Service, her next album, became famous all over the world. Her most-wanted singles were: Whenever, Wherever and Underneath your clothes.

According to the United World Chart she is the fourth artist more famous of the 2000 year.

[Craig David]

Craig Ashley David is a R&B singer from England who obteined a great success with his first album: Born to do it.

His father is from Africa and his mum is jewish. 

Fill me in was his first single and it reached the first place in United Kingdom when he was just 19.

He obteined from his first album Born to do it the platinium CD; a difficult award to win for an artist.

The next two singles 7 days and Walking away were successful too.

His next two albums didn’t go like his first one and he discreased in music’s lists but David didn’t go to pieces and nowadays he has a new album called Trust me which is a more confident one.  This album presents us a more sincere David and I think he will succeed at last.
